How To Stay Committed Over The Holidays
With the holidays upon us, stress levels and demands on your time can exceed your capacity to manage everything.
So we want to encourage you, first and foremost, to reconnect with your commitment to your health, fitness, and well-being. It’s important to you or else you wouldn’t be trying so hard to fit it into your busy life.
Committing to something doesn’t just mean when it’s convenient, as you already know. The things in life worth striving for are often the most challenging to accomplish.
During periods of your life when getting in a workout seems nearly impossible, those moments are often when your workouts will produce the greatest positive shift in your life.
Now that you’ve hopefully given your commitment level some extra thought, I’d like to take some of the burdens off of you.
The burden to work out as hard or harder than you did last time is simply unmanageable. Quite honestly, it doesn’t serve anyone to have that mindset.
At Prana 365, it is our experience that working out — whether you do as much or more as the last workout — has benefits that are unquantifiable and may not be realized until a future date.
Many of our clients work out for 45 minutes in duration and are striving to match or beat one thing from their previous workout when the opportunity exists. But, when you’re planning family get-togethers, trying to buy gifts, still do a good job at your work, provide love and care for your family, etc, please give yourself permission to:
1. Reduce your workout length to 10-15 minutes
2. Decrease your intensity — perhaps 50% of your normal exertion
3. Feel great about doing something when the alternative was to do nothing!
